MSBEST aims to develop comprehensive systematic reviews in multiple sclerosis rehabilitation to inform evidence-based care and improve the lives of people living with MS.

MSBEST (Multiple Sclerosis Best Evidence-Based Strategies and Treatment/Therapies for Rehabilitation) was the first project for the network and consists of a series of systematic reviews of the literature on topics in MS care and rehabilitation.

A group of researchers and clinicians in North America with expertise in MS rehabilitation initiated MSBEST. The website provides a comprehensive summary of the research, in addition to clinicians’ guidance about appropriate care and rehabilitation for people living with MS. Topic reviews are freely accessible as online modules.

Our Guidlines

Although multiple sclerosis (MS) research is rapidly expanding, a significant gap remains between evidence and practice—many patients still do not receive the most current, evidence-based care. As MS research becomes increasingly complex and multidisciplinary, it can be challenging for clinicians and researchers alike to stay up to date with the latest findings and integrate them into real-world clinical settings. MS BEST was developed to help close this gap by translating cutting-edge MS research into practical, actionable tools that support evidence-informed decision-making in everyday care.

A diverse team

The MSBest team is a distinguished collective of clinicians, researchers, and rehabilitation experts from across North America. United by a commitment to advancing evidence-based care for individuals living with multiple sclerosis (MS), this interdisciplinary group conducts comprehensive systematic reviews to inform best practices in MS rehabilitation.

Other tools and resources

MSBEST’s comprehensive systematic reviews cover topics that are important to the independence and quality of life for people living with MS.

Our reviews are organized into modules that focus on the management of common multiple sclerosis symptoms, their associated interventions, and the desired outcomes. Modules contain lay summaries of evidence, tables with key information about each article, and levels of evidence statements. The MSBEST team of clinicians and researchers provide their expert interpretation of the research.
